Sorry to hear about that. Similar has happened to me and I just chalk it up to someone having a bad day and move on with mine. But anyway...I have actually been onto the Easter Egger site and have been scolded by one user as she picked up on a comment I made to a Christian member. She should have by passed my short (nice) comment but she chose to pull me up about it. And went on and on........
I guess I will learn - I mean I have only been on this site for less than a day......
The bantam Cochin is our version of your Pekin, as previously mentioned by everyone else. I've had both the bantam and standard varieties and I really loved them both for their docile personalities and wonderful maternal instincts. The big down side, to me, for the large fowl version was they were very expensive to feed. Anyway, I've had EEs too, and they were another breed I enjoyed quite a bit. None of mine were ever as friendly as my Cochins or Silkies. They didn't like to be held, but most would eat from my hand and they were excellent foragers. They laid every color egg you could imagine, came in endless color combinations, with or without beards and muffs, or feathered legs, they can pretty much have it all and still maybe lay a blue or green egg (for example, look up Olive Eggers, just another version of the Easter Egger, but wonderful nonetheless). Good luck
