Why is it walking backwards??

I have a three day old jap quail who, as of this afternoon, only walks backwards with its head down, and to the left. What could be causing this? It is housed in a Styrofoam incubator with two other chicks.

What are feeding them? Did it run out of water at any point?

They always have access to water, and are being fed choock grain blended up to be smaller.

Probably vitamin deficiancy. You should be feeding turkey starter or gamebird starter with at least 26% protein. 30% is recommended.
