Why is it?

I told a neighbor of mine that we were getting our first chickens. He chuckled and said "enjoy them, but remember everything wants to eat them" I thought this was good advice.

It really is true... I have never had an animal where literally EVERYTHING wants to eat them. It's very stressful when you're first starting out!

ive had chickens for 2 years and it still stresses me out...

Especially when they're small and nugget-sized....I kept mine in the house until they were 6 weeks old

They were getting out of their box, foraging and pooping everywhere, scratching and eating in my poor begonia. Now they spend their days in a small fenced run and nights in a smaller, VERY secure cage until the coop is done.

I worry about the bantams, they are still so tiny! 8 weeks old and a tad smaller than 2 week old cochin chicks!

I def made my coop very well and keep adding onto the run as i find new ideas
