Why is Mother Duck Not Sitting on Babies?

We recently hatched 11 ducklings, we let the mother do it since she wanted to sit on her eggs.
But i've noticed she doesn't always sit on her babies to keep them warm. (they are about 1 week old)
When we had our hen hatch chicks she was always sitting on them to keep them warm til they got much older.
Is this just something with ducks? The ducklings will pile together when they aren't running around and i'm worried they could suffocate each other.

Totally different species, I was very disappointed when I noticed my mama ducks didn't cuddle their ducklings the way I had seen my mama hens do, but everyone of them made it. I think it's pretty normal duck mama behavior. Hopefully they won't suffocate each other.
