Why is my 30 week old duck not laying??

She gets a normal diet and I give her oyster shells but she doesn’t seem to eat it that much(I heard they only eat it if they need it but idk). Possibly it’s just the chickens don’t eat it. She has nesting material but she just won’t lay . Since it’s the springtime maybe she would but no. She did lose her only duck friend recently but she wasn’t even laying before that(her friend wasn’t either). I’m getting a drake soon maybe that’ll help but I need to know if i’m doing something wrong.

That’s still pretty young my Last Runner females were hatched last April and June didn’t start laying till mid January of this year. Give her a little more time I bet it’s soon.

Give her some time and I'm sure she will be laying soon! You could put some Golf balls in the nesting box to encourage her where to lay.

I have a black east indie that is around 8 months maybe 9 now and still hasn't laid an egg yet. Sometimes they just take a little longer to lay. My Welsh started back in January and was hatched out after this the black east indie they just will end up doing it as their bodies decide.

My 3 cayuga's are around 10 months old.
They just started laiding a month ago.
But I haven't gotten a egg from than in 2 weeks now...
And I haven't changed anything..
They laid when they want to..
