why is my cochin chick going bald???

My cochins are around 5 weeks old and i noticed the other day that one of them is loosing feathers, and now just a few days later it has a good size area on its back that is bald with lil patches of feathers, but most of the feathers are gone on its back, how come? If it matters, the cochins are in a pen with 4 other breeds, all together there is 27 chicks but some arent really chicks anymore, the oldest ones are around maybe 2 months old by now, not sure, but i been watching and i havent noticed a whole lot of pecking, however i did notice the cochins pecking at the older chicks though, whats going on?

I agree it is probably getting picked on buy other birds. There is a member here - Moodene - that makes chicken saddles to protect their backs....

the feed store you use should have a product called no-peck. They dont like the taste and it will help heal the area. Good Luck
