Why is my drake's feathers around beak changing color????

I noticed a couple of days ago that my drake's feathers around his beak were turning a brownish white color, at first I thought it might be mud or dirt but it didn't wash off when he was swimming, I got a closer look this morning & it's not mud it's his feathers changing to this ugly brown color. Is he molting????

This is normal. I can't say for sure why this happens or for what, but I've seen it happen in many ducks as they age. No worries !! Gorgeous drake by the way !!
