My Pekin duck has been in the coop since I let her and her friend out (7 am) and she hasn't left. I know she doesn't need to lay an egg because she already did...

Any thoughts? Am I supposed to be concerned?

Breed: White Pekin
Age: 1 year

What is she doing in there? Is she sitting in a nest? Could she be broody?

Could she be afraid to come out because of a predator scare?

Or could she be ill? Have you checked her feet for injuries/bumblefoot? Is she eating/drinking?

If she is broody she will start to add lots of her down feathers to her nest, and she will lay on it almost all day usually getting up once to eat, drink, and bathe. Might be a little bit puffy when walking around and start making different noises if she is going broody as well. Be sure to monitor her eating and drinking and make sure she is doing both.
