I would love a $100 electric bill. Ours is around $300 in the winter, because it's so dark, and so cold. I fully expect this months bill to be about $400.
My brother in law was an electronics major. He put his house on that and designed a circuit board so that certain outlets with high consumption devices attached could not be used during the peak hours. It saved a lot of money but made life difficult for my sister who was a stay at home mom raising 2 kids.
Yes I agree with running them as little as possible. I went to TSC and bought the Thermocube plugs. They turn the heaters on at 35 and off at 45. THat way I don't have to worry about them running when they are not needed, which here hasn't been to much. We have had a very warm winter so far.
