These are a fast growing hybrid. They are not your typical laying hen. They reach their full market weight at 12 weeks.

So will you slaughter them soon?
Just because they are slaughter size/weight does not mean they are 'mature' behavior-wise.

At 12 weeks they are basically teenagers and we know how teenagers like to be in a group and hang out together. This is typical survival behavior in young chickens of any breed. Just because they are physically ready for processing at a certain age does not mean they are mentally mature.
