WHY IS MY HEN ACTING THIS Way?

I do hope that if you allow her to hatch chicks you post about it.

While rare for a production breed to go broody it's not impossible. I read about a leghorn hatching chicks out successfully. It can be done!

I have a California White that went broody just once. She would have sat long enough to hatch but I had no fertile eggs to give her.

I certainly look forward to hearing how it goes.
I definitely will and I will include pictures too!

Ok, so my hen is sitting at night, but going out with the other chicken's during the day acting like she already had chicks!!

They so tend to do that 🤣🤣🤣

I slipped 2 more eggs under my Cinnamon Queen. (Less than 48hrs had elapsed since I put the other under her)

She is sitting like a queen 🤣🤣🤣
Mine gave up after 4 days. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️...friend is finishing the incubation...as I had 30 eggs coming in today to set in my 30 egg incubator 🤣🤷‍♀️🤣

I just came upon this thread now after all this time🤦‍♀️.
Sorry I never posted anything about the Black Stars chicks. So here's what happened. She did go broody and stayed on her eggs. Then around day 19, she killed and ate all of them. 😡😡 I was beyond angry at her. Not sure what causes this behavior, but this just happened again to my Australorp hens 3 eggs in May. No chicks or shell to be found until I pulled the hay in the nesting box back and found a shell with blood on the inside.
