Why is my hen vibrating?!

I have a broody hen (oh joy). Me and my dad were working out in the barn, so I've been taking her out every time shes been going back in. Well, when I picked her up and held her, and she was vibrating. Why is she doing this? She is very warm. It's 55 degrees, and very little wind. Is she cold, or is it something else?

Is she growling? It could be the vibration of that. Cats vibrate when they purr.It could be similar.

Yea, she's slightly growling. My broody ducks, geese and chickens all do that when they're broody and I pick them up.

Maybe it's the heat going through her body.

She isn't growling (I don't think) Shes acting fine otherwise.

I know what your talking about. It's not exactly a growl but it is technically them vibrating because they're nervous.
