why is my rooster in the nest box?

just found him in the nest box on top of my leghorn hen maybe she is going to start laying she is 9 months old and never layed an egg.she has spurs and i thought she would never lay but maybe she is ready now.what do you think?

I think keep an eye on your roo - when the pullets are getting close to POL (point of lay), a rooster know and starts courting the girl - even before she starts squatting.
