why is so hard to find standard white cornish

Did anybody ever find quality LF White Cornish? I have some potential 4-H'ers and would like some nice ones to start with, but so far I am striking out.

I am looking for some standard white cornish hatching eggs too. Anybody know where I can get some?

Over the years, I have seen tornadoes more often than LF white eggs for sale... all were auctions, and Iv seen 6 tornadoes...... Once I won the auction for $214.00. Once I bid them up to $400.00, they went for $427.00... And then I went to $450.00 and still lost by a few dollars..... The last went to $350.00 and the auction was removed. Never found out why but I was high bid. All these auctions were all for a dozen + extras.... The one I did win, I actually got close to 2 dozen. Three hatched. The cockerel was so poor I culled it at 16 weeks. These were from advertised "exhibition quality" birds..... The two pullets did turn out to be very good birds..... I have never seen LF White chicks for sale..... Breeders of quality stock just dont do it. Most wont risk a poor bird popping up and having someone who paid top dollar for chicks, throwing rocks at their line....... This is why the birds command that kinda money.... FWIW..... Cornish eggs do not ship well... Ever, so know that going in........ Bill
