Why is there a bump on my ducks bill????

I just noticed today my duck Nico has a yellow spot on his bill that is a bit of a bump?? Is this normal??

I can’t see any punctures and its hard. It feels like the rest of his bill.

Heres another picture. It isnt a huge bump so at first I thought maybe it was dry skin?? But i dont know why it would be that color.

Could have injured . Or might be an abscess. Is he acting normal and no drainage coming from eyes or nares?

Yep! No drainage and he was acting pretty normal no odd behavior. He is eating and drinking well and is energetic like usual. Could it just be a bruise you think?

Possibly do you see any blood under? I was thinking blister at first until you said it was hard like the rest of his bill. I’d just keep an eye on it. if it’s an injury it should heal fine and go away.

It’s how they “shed their bills”. Mine have that all the time at it peels right off!

I think it was peeling!! Because it is completely gone now!
