says 7/16 in diameter. theres also size 9 size 11 does it matter wat sise they R dont these plastic leg bands shape themselves to the chickens leg? cuz diffrent chicken breeds have diffrent size legs big legs small legs

That is the size. It does matter A LOT what size you get. If you get a size that was designed for a quail, you don't want to put in on a turkey! I think that there are websites where they say what birds each size is designed for...

You don't want a band that shapes itself to the chicken's leg. If it is tight, it will cut off circulation.

You will need to measure the chicken's leg to get the right size band.

I think I've seen people on ebay that sell smaller amounts of leg bands. Check there. Or find someone in your area to split an order with you.

What kind of chickens do you have? I can look up the "average size" for your breeds. Many people buy colored zip ties and use them.

I got small colored zip ties from ebay and it works well. I just make sure to leave about a fingers width of space between the band and the leg so that I am sure that as they grow it won't get too tight. They work really well and come in bags of 100.

thats an idea i tryd to use zip ties b4 but i was useing medeium size white 1s but they were too big plus i had trouble holding the chicken and at the same time tryn to zip tie it to there leg

so ur sayn ni need to get small colored zip ties how much space do i leave between there leg & zip tie? if theres too much space left the zip tie will probly fall off
