why isnt she siting?

we my mallard hen is up to 9 eggs and still isnt siting yet. Could the drake have something to do with this? or does she just need more eggs. Also i found 2 or her eggs away for her nest is this normal?

pefectly normal....she just isn't broody. Just because there are eggs doesn't mean she is gonna set

My Runner ducks have usually started when there are between 12 and 14 so give her a little more time. And as Teach97 said, sometimes they just aren't ready?

also any idea why she would be laying her eggs away for the nest then the next day she lays in her nest
