Why? Just why?

I never considered my EE "superior", but they lay as well as my Rocks and Wyandottes on average. Mine have mostly been from MMM, with some from Ideal also. I don't know if I just get lucky with my hatchery birds or what, when I read folks here saying how long it takes their EE to mature and how little they lay. My hatchery EE have always been nice production birds.

Can you please state your source of these superior EE.

The first ones came from a local woman & I have no idea what hatchery she got them from. The second ones came from the local feed store & they normally get them from Privett hatchery. The last ones came from Meyer Hatchery. I may have been lucky, but all the ones I've had over several years were great.

Thanks for the info, we had been considering EEs from Meyers, it's already in my shopping carts. Hopefully they're good layers, I don't mind if they don't match my Brocks or leghorns or Wyandottes, our BCMarans only layed 3 months then took a winter breaks.
