This is the first I've seen of this post, I missed it before. So when did that silkie start laying?! Mine is now 29 weeks and nada.

I hope the fruit thing isn't true, they get watermelon and nectarines a lot lately. Plus anything we eat on the deck they get to finish.

And, I vote for the RIR to be the first to lay next.

If you don't think threats are good, what about singing to them?

p.s. I BETTER not have this same problem when my girls are that age (they are only 8 weeks now). I wonder if I should start threats or bribes now.

I did tell them but I think it went in one ear and came out the other.vfem-- The silkies started at about 24 weeks but there is one that is still holding out on me at almost 38 weeks.I will get pics of the girls today and then all can see who is almost there
