Why no eggs??

They might be going through a light molt- meaning they are shedding and replacing feathers slowly. But they normally lay through that, so that brings us to feed and maybe light.
Birds don't really like yellow light so check on that. (I have to repaint my brooder, wasn't thinking nd painted it light yellow, nothing like ticking them off young).
Give them some xmas LED lights.

So whats the feed protein%?
Calcium levels, and do you supplement with oyster shell?

My feed is 30% protein.

I do give them oyster shell on occasion.

We have been having HORRIBLE wind over the last couple days.. This unfortunately allowed a couple of my quail to excape.
My dog got one of my hens before I could get outside.
I figured this would allow me to see what was going on inside her.. She had a bunch of little yolks attached to her ovaries, maybe a teaspoon full. But all the yolks were about the size of a mustard seed, and there weren't any forming shells anywhere.

The only things that I do to keep them laying are increase protein the food, supplement calcium, give 16-20 hours of light a day, and ALWAYS make sure there is water in the pen, along with the food.

Jj, I had an egg eater, but somehow she cured herself. Though i agree, sometimes it can only be remedied with a pair of scissors!

I have birds housed in a garage/barn setting and I use the 60 watt bulbs...those emit perfect lighting, along with Christmas LED light in darker areas. I am getting eggs. SOme hens slack off but I have been changing their feed lately to test a few things. All in all, when they want a break, they will just quit

I'm finally getting some eggs.. 2 or 3 per day..

I've got 5 or 6 hens and 10 or roosters

But my younger birds are 7 weeks now. So hopefully I'll be getting 4 or 5 eggs a day pretty soon.
