Why normal poo mixed with brownish red diarrhea?

My crop surgery recovering roo has been confined for a week, mostly his poo is perfectly normal, but for about every 10 normal ones, he drops a dark brown diarrhea poo.
He has been eating only regular pellets and pellets mixed with water mash.
This has been going on for most of the week.

Anyone know why? Is this a concern? what does blood in poo look like?

I want to put him outside cuz he keeps crowing in the middle of the night!!! But I want to make sure he is healthy.

Any thoughts would be great. Thanks everyone!

Frank (obvious) blood is scarlet or carmine colored. `Old' blood in stool will be black and tarry. There is a good description of `poop' at the link below (chooks=galliformes).

If he is otherwise driving you to invest in ear plugs and is eating and drinking well I'd think his recovery is going well.
