Why not turn the last 3 days?

I have had chickens since I was young and once I got serious, I bought a flock of buff cochin bantams for brooders. I have hatched a few runs out of hova bators and followed the rules but I am just wondering. I have never seen hens, stop shuffling eggs.

I have seen hens come off the nest to eat with 2 chicks in the nest and come back and shuffle the rest of the eggs and they hatch?

I have a set of orpingtons and marans in a Brinsea 20 ECO that is 6 days, in.

I plan on stopping the turners but I am just wondering how important it is?

I've by accident left the eggs turning till the end with a great hatch (95+%), I think it might have started so you can use the turning tray to start a batch of chicks, plus i've stoped turning at 14 days also with great hatches

I have an egg turner, so I remove that on day 18 because I think the chicks might get stuck in it or something......but here's the thing.....

I think, on those last three days, turning is just not necessary. You want to keep that humidity up, so you don't want to open that incy..because the humidity is so important. If you turned them it wouldn't hurt, but you just don't need to at that point......and you don't want to lose that high humidity level.....

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
