Why raise meal worms?

I would like to know where you ordered your meal worms ? I only have 5 chickens and 3 ducks but I would like to get some when I raised tropical birds I had them. But now I want to get some more if someone lets me know.

I would really like to know which species of meal worm you are buying for your chickens. Is the species the lesser meal worm otherwise known as the larva stage of the darkling beetle?
