Hi,

I have this barred rock around year old, I bought this around 1.5 months back.

But she did not lay a single egg till now, I thought she might be molting, but I don't see much evidence, few feather some times I see here and there from her; but she was never heavily molted (without hairs).

Here I'm attaching few pictures I took couple of days back, could you please let me know what could be the possible reason? as I see she seems fine and eats pretty well, nothing abnormal.

Need more info. You said your just now have gotten an egg. That's a good thing she might start laying maybe not everyday. One egg here one egg there. Is she with flock mates are you sure about her age? Its real hot now & they slow down due to the heat. What are you feeding her? Chickens don't like change it takes them time to adjust to a new home etc. Did something frighten her? That will slow down egg production. I had a hawk scare mine one day & they quit laying for over a month.

Well she has not layed a single egg till now, I bought her on 6/16/2012; more than 1.5 months now.

I'm not sure about her age, the guy told me about an year old. I've some other hens and pullets, nobody dare to fight with her, if she stands on the food, no body will come near her until she's eating, I don't know why other's afraid of her, even the boss Rhode Island Red :) she eats pretty well also.

I'm feeding them Layer feed and scratch, my two other's (RIR and Americana) are consisent layers and one Buff Orphington also started laying few days back.

The only thing I noticed with this one, is that she was having some runny nose after few days when she came, but since 2 weeks she looks perfect either.

Thanks

How is her weight? If she is eating a lot she may have worms. With the heat and the move she still may be adjusting. Especially if she is older.

For over year old and being barred rock, her weight is definitely on lighter side, so worms could be the possible issue.

Is there any solution for it? or we have to eat her finally...

There are wormers on the market. The one approved for chickens, Wazine, only works well on round worms. Most use something else off label. To be sure she has worms maybe you ca find a vet to do a fecal float test.
