Why so against EE?

When I ordered from the hatchery I asked for EE and they said they didn't know what those were

...they only had Ameraucanas! I have Easter Eggers:D........and love them. They are by far my favorites.

It's annoying when you inquire about "Ameracaunas" and find out they're laying brownish green eggs.

It's my understanding that pure bred Ameracaunas lay blue eggs only. Had the people understood their "breed", I wouldn't have wasted my time asking about their chickens.

I don't think it hate, people are trying to be educational so the word spreads.

It's an EE. Welcome to the I thought I had a (insert Ameraucana or Araucana) club.

haha well i love her.. funny for about the first six months of our dogs life we thought he was a leggy pit bull... turns out he is a american bulldog! Apparently, the same thing happened with our chick! Glad to know I have an EE.

What color will her eggs be... or rather what colors could they be?

Exactly. I love my EEs too pieces but my original birds were purchased as "Ameraucanas" and it ticked me off that the hatcheries lie about what they are selling you.

Why do they do that? i would have paid for an EE just the same. i just wanted some colorful eggs. what is the point in lying? urg that makes me mad. not becasue i have EE's but becasue i hate being ignorant about things and when people ask what my chicken is i want to be correct and i did research about the breed and ow i have to start over. why could they have not just been honest?

I ordered my birds through a local feed store who orders from MM. She called them Ameraucana's and I, being a newbie, figured she knew what she was talking about. Well, after getting the birds I was set straight and informed that MM doesn't deal with true AM's and that I had EE's. I wasn't too upset, except that I really, really, really wanted a couple of blue egg layers so purchased 7 of them (1 died). Now I wonder if I'll get any blue egg layers. I'll be bummed if I don't, but it's taught me to do my homework. I don't think most people care, except for when they really care

Ameraucana's or E E’s

MMMMMMMMMMMMM

Ok can you please in light me in the different types , I have order eggs from both and I though they where the same , my so call EE’s are about 3 weeks old now and my Ameraucana's are about to be hatch in a few weeks .
So I taking I should keep the in different pens as to there are not the same breeders .
These birds are from different breeders and not from hatchery and are so call pure breeds .

Is there any way to tell the apart or just my egg coloring

Any infor. Would be great and thanks again
Alan

It annoy's me when people call them mutts. Just because they have no uniform breeding as Ameraucana's and Araucana's doesn't give people the right to call my chickens mutts. Do you know what your whole pedigree is? Are you then a mutt just because you don't know all of it?

Well, whatever way you slice it, EE's are mixed breeds of some sort. They don't breed true, and their egg color is quite variable. They may have a little or a lot of americauna breed in them, you just don't know. I think those who refer to them as mutts are not trying to be derogatory, I think they mean they are mixed breed. Which they are, if the were not mixed, they would be americaunas or arucaunas.

I don't think people hate EE's or that they are a lower classed than Araucanas or Ameraucana's.
Some people like purebreds, others don't mind a mutt or purebred at all.

I agree, totally! Another thing about EE's is that I believe they are more readily available than Ameraucanas or Araucanas.
So if I had to import I think I would go for some EE instead of Ameraucanas (expense wise), but that's just my opinion.
