Why so many females???

So I live in Florida and we have a rivers by my house and I always see female mallards never any males

I dont know if the females are males and maybe they are mixed? We also have ALOT ALOT of Blue belly whistlers around here. My dad says everytime he goes golfing he only sees female mallards at the course to. I wondering and I would like to find out.

Not sure if female mallards spend more time out and about... but I do know that male mallards only have their green heads and distinct male coloring for part of the year. You may be seeing males and females.
