Why so many quitters?

Please correct me if I am wrong but I think the the 60% humidity was recommended for egg storage prior to putting in them in the incubator.
Now I know there are a few folks on this forum that incubate at higher humidity do to being at higher altitude...I think.

Yesterday I had a 100% hatch on 12 eggs that I ordered from Okiehen (OK to FL). More than a few of them had very uneven air cells that almost ran down the side of the egg but they all survived. I think that when eggs are shipped, most packages travel on planes...maybe something to do with being un-pressurized at 35, 000 feet has something to do with damaging the insides. Just a thought............

The funny thing is I do have some with air cells like that, 3 of them, and they are amongst the ones developing just fine!
