That was me, and I was talking about the OP of that thread. If they bred a game mix/game to a Leghorn, it would be a barnyard mix. Would it not?You were there when someone said just sell them as barnyard chickens? I never try to be mean, we have a world that can do that on its own, were here to escape that?
If you have gamefowl why not only breed gamefowl? There’s no benefit to crossing them for any reason. There’s plenty of layer breeds out there that will set on eggs and lay a lot more than a game hen. Mixing the two imo is a slap in the face to all the breeders that came before us. Sure everyone has the right to do whatever they want but one generation of crossing from true gamefowl usually will still result in aggressive chickens that can’t always be kept in the same conditions regular layers can. I’m talking hens too. Some are just as aggressive as the cocks. You were there when someone said just sell them as barnyard chickens? When it comes to the OPs bird in that other thread it’s already not full game and looked like a mix of some sort.......and he/she said it was smaller than a younger bird so it most likely had bantam of some kind in there. Many people call OEGB game chickens, gamefowl or *gamebirds*. Selling that bird or birds off of it are barnyard mixes. What else would you call it?i
I could be completely wrong (because I am very confused with this thread) but I believe they are saying when you mix gamefowl with a different breed then the chicks are going to be barnyard mix.I have 3 Full Game Fowl hens and i have chicks now!
So are you hoping we can tell the pure chicks from any that might be mixes? Just double checkingI have 3 Full Game Fowl hens and i have chicks now!
Actually it would be a *lamefowl* thank you thank you. No applause necessary! That was me, and I was talking about the OP of that thread. If they bred a game mix/game to a Leghorn, it would be a barnyard mix. Would it not?
