why such strong smelly poo?

My two barnyard special chicks, probably about 4-5 weeks old now (given to me with no idea how old they were) have a really pungent smelling poo. Its been like this since Ive gotten them. Ive had chicks several times, but they have never smelled this bad. Any ideas? They are in the house most of the time, they do range a bit in the afternoon. Eating chick starter along with a few goodies I have started giving them from time to time.

Try cracked corn, more water and more time outside. It is to hot to be in most of the day.
