Why that pecker! We have a sweet Bantam rooster wounding one hen

We love this special rooster but for some reason he is picking on just one hen to the point where he has almost pecked out one eye. They free range and she tries to keep her distance. Is this normal? What should we do?

Sorry to hear that. Does the hen have any thing on her face that the rooster could be trying to pick off? How long has he been picking on her?

you could separate the hen for a few days then let her out and see if he stops.

It would be difficult to separate as we have 12 total birds that free range. He has been aggressive to just this one hen for many months. She is the lowest on the totem pole while he is half the size of all the hens, just worried he will blind her.
