Why the attack?!

I have a pair of khaki campbells. Lately the male has fixated on one of my australorp hens, chases her around, attacks her, tears out feathers, etc. He doesn't go after any of the other hens, and he has a female duck to pal around with. What gives?!

maybe its a pecking order thing? maybe that hen is the boss hen (as there is always one in a flock

) ...and we all know drakes think they are top duck

could be just working out some issues...

I had 2 drakes, and they both terrorized my hens!!!!

Pulled out feathers, chased and held them down, etc. I also had a female duck too! Mine were a Pekin and some kind of crested! Just make sure to keep an eye on him, because he can really hurt the hens! Good luck.

I have a drake and duck with six hens all together and my drake is fine with them... actually hangs with them all when they are let out. he only ever nips them when hes hogging the scraps bowl
