Why the same nest?

Because they're just silly birds! Actually, I think it probably has something to do with them believing they're contributing to a clutch of eggs, so when a broody hen goes to sit on and hatch them, their eggs will be a part of that.

I'm amazed that some of your birds will share nests. Ours just yell at each other to get off the nest! They do not share well at all.

Here's two of my girls... one could barely fit in there but they both decided to try.

half of mine will lay in one nest and the others made their own nest in the corner of the coop....i think they are hording
