Why wait two weeks?

farmin'chick :

Looks like they are advocating a new religion -- sacrificing the first two weeks of pullet eggs to the god of Ignorance....

I wanted to laugh and cry... amazing the sacrifices made to that particular deity isn't it.

But, I agree. Could easily be the aging for boiling thing got twisted, gotta love the telephone game.
OR the medicated starter...

Probably best for companies to say NEVER than to tell one person it's okay and have them be the ONE who was doing medicated and who gets sick... and consequently sues. CYA, it's so sad that it's become such a large part of American life. *sigh*

When my husband and I first got chickens, I heard that too, that pullet eggs aren't edible. Mine must have been an exception, they sure were tasty!

I gave my mom some pullet eggs. I later found out that she kept them in the fridge for over a month (I decided not to give her any more eggs if she wasn't gonna eat them) --- until she found out that a friend of a friend regularly eats small sized backyard banty eggs. That, apparently, validated my little eggs and she finally used them up.
