Why won’t my hens roost?

Hi folks,
I have six young hens about 1 1/2-2 months old. They all are able to get up on the roosts we set up but at night they still want to sleep in the pine shavings in the floor of the coop. I don’t want them to get mites etc. Any suggestions?

They might be too young. But here's what I do with my chickens. I go out before it is totally dark and put them on the roosts. I have some who like to sleep in the nest box. NOT. They poop in there at night. What a mess. Chickens can't see in the dark so I go out and putz around until almost dark. Then I put up any strays. I have one BR who is BIG and I don't think she can actually get up. Then I close the door and they are up. Sing their lullaby and bid them good night. Might take several night to a week but chickens get habits quite quickly. Good luck
