I have three silkie chicks and I’m not quite sure how many normal chicks but for some reason my silkies NEVER roost, is it cause of their extra toes?

I’m glad you asked this. I’m going through the same thing with my two Silkie girls. I thought it was bc all the other hens are buffs and Isa browns so they all roost up high in the coop. I’ve tried moving them onto low perches but they just move back on the ground and hang out. I just worry they don’t get enough sleep or they’re lonely or scared or something. Lol

Yeah after looking more into to it seems like Silkies just simply don’t like roosting and prefer the ground, it’s odd

I don’t like it at all. I only have two silkies with 10 standard breeds. Im thinking very hard about making them they’re own coop and run and getting a few more to just have a Silkie flock of they’re own.
