why wont my avatar change?!

i keep trying to change my avatar and it wont change!

What's it supposed to be? Quite often you can't see the change but others can.

Is it 100 x 100 pixels or less? Is it saved as a gif?

Sometimes you have to refresh or post a new message. It could take a while.
