Why won't my button quails lay eggs?

They can lay an egg a day or depending on lighting you have for them, an egg every other day

I have some. They are funny. I am incubating some eggs too.

They're extremely hard to hatch. I went through 2 bad batches.

My button babbies just started laying. They are not as fast as coturnix. My buttons are about 3-4 months old. I have an entire cage full. I do not have them seperate yet. They don't seem to mind it too much. I like to watch them interact with each other. They talk back and forth. When I see a pair that seems to really like each other, I seperate them out and then they are mates. I get an egg a day usually but sometimes they miss a day. They do need the daylight. If they don't have it they will not lay.

THey don't need daylight, that's what artificial lighting is for. I have over 60 pairs indoors and they lay without being outside.

So I'll use artificial. But will Chickapee still lay if Tic were still in the cage as well as Tac?
