Why won't my quail lay eggs?

I have some quail that i got at an auction in Danville Ohio recently they are coturnix quail and are brown. I believe they are at the laying age but haven't layed an egg yet and i know for sure there is a male and a female. And its been 2 weeks since wev'e got them. I just wanna know why they haven't layed yet.

Are you sure that some are females ? Post up some pics showing the breast area of the birds & someone will be able to help identify how many males/females you have. Most start laying somewhere between 4-6 weeks with some taking a little longer.

They started to lay now that we got them in a larger are and we got one more egg than we have females?
