why wont they eat mixed corne?

i wish mine would eat the pellets but when i mix the pellets and corn they eat just the corn...like everyone said corn will increase the temp slightly but i think it doesnt matter if you feed them corn or not( sorry im one of those people who agrees that we have gotten away from the basics, grandma and grandpa fed them what they could, whether scrach or corn)
