Why would my rooster repeatedly attack a certain hen?

My rooster is great to his girls and to me but for some reason he has it in for a certain hen of mine. Spurs her and bites her viciously! Why would this be?

Happened with my roo too. It isn't uncommon for roosters to choose a favorite hen. Introducing a few new hens could distract him but you can also remove a couple hens from the flock for a few days so he will be more interested in them. good luck! <3

Could be something is wrong with that hen healthwise and he's trying to drum her out of the flock.
I would separate him for the time being.
Is he the only male?

Tell us more about your flock(numbers, ages, etc),
and more about your coop and run(pics and dimensions).

I have had chickens for decades, and I had this very thing happen this year for the first time. They had been in the flock for months together when all at once he despised her, and ran her off constantly.

You do really need to separate them, and cull one of them. A coyote helped me out, and snatched the rooster. I have read about sometimes it is a sign of illness, but with him gone, she is fine, right back in the flock.
