All I'm gonna say is they better be glad they didn't come by my house shooting at ANYTHING! What if you had children out in the yard playing or something?

I really hope they catch who ever did this - they're more likely to commit even more heinous crimes in the future. They'll get theirs, hopefully sooner rather than later. Oh yeah, I don't care if it was kids or someone older, they need to be punished. If you would have walked out when they were shooting

How do the parents not know what morons they are raising?

Actually, come to think of it, the parents are probably proud. We were feeding the ducks at the park not too long ago, and some kid started throwing rocks at them. His parents joined in! Ditto for the time when the kid kicked a duck, and the grandma smiled and nodded at me, oh so proud.

That is just asinine, sadly this is the norm behavior of folks now a days when I lived in CO there were incidents of house hold pets being lured out of their back yards and killed... come to find out it was a couple of young teen boys doing this... some of the ways they killed these dogs would make your stomach flip...

Does make you wonder where we as a society have failed in the upbringing of our generations.... and ya know its only going to get worse because there are so many laws protecting the perpatraitors of these crimes than there are of the victims...

It's awesome though that they took it seriously. They SHOULD. It is possible that a person, adult OR child, could have been out there and taken that bullet instead! If they ahve some idiots running around shooting at people's homes they need to find them and stop them before any more innocent lives are lost. I love my pets dearly, as I'm sure you do, not trying to downplay it at all, but this is HUGE. Talk to everyone in your area about this, if they saw ANYONE around then they need to report it... it could very well be their chicken, dog, cat, CHILD that gets hit next. *shudder* geez that's just scary.

My sincere sympathies.

To lose a sweet pet to random violence is unthinkable. I agree with many of the previous posts but might add people who do this are on the journey to doing the same to people. Heartlessness like this is the sign of a sociopath. If it is a teen the parents need to realize the seriousness of the situation and get help NOW.
