Why yes, that is a baby monitor on my table (I'm 63)

A fox came right into my yard Saturday morning, the hens were free ranging under supervision. I heard the ruckus and gave chase. The hen she'd grabbed was quite shook and sans some feathers but is okay. Fox came back this morning to see if it could breach the coop and they let me know. But what if I don't hear?

It's a VTech Dm111 at Target for the best $20 I ever spent. Coop is about 60' from my house and I can hear them whispering. LMAO - It is fun to hear their private conversations, but gets quite loud when someone lays an egg.

Love this idea! I've been actually considering the same thing until I get a coop cam going!

Wow what a good idea. I might do this for night time. The other night I ran outside because my rooster was crowing at 3 am, which is unusual for him. Then I heard the tiniest sounding crow from way way down the road. I guess someone got a new insomniac rooster. Anyway once he quits responding to that I think I'll try this idea!

Baby monitor saved my chickens. A raccoon had Mable by the neck when we got out there. It was terrifying trying to move chickens to safety, when they had been roosting, while the raccoon climbed up the wall. Mable was injured but is still alive at the ripe old age of 10 yrs old, I think.
I got mine at Walmart but now they have went digital.
