Well, it took the 2 tweens and 5 chicks just 1 day to eat 1/2 of a watermelon (basketball sized).

Scooter's crest gets all wet whenever she drinks. She slurps water & it's dripping off of her crest. A few days of no melon (or strawberries) and her crest, whiel not pristine white, does get poofy & partially clean again.
