Why'd my chicken drop dead?

One of my 2 yr old hens had been laying around more than normal for 1 day. I noticed yellow runny poop. Then next day she was dead. Any ideas?? She had been eating/acting normally and laying regularly up to the day before she died. I don't want my other hens to be sick, but I don't know what I am dealing with.

Oh no! I just thought of something. I hope she didn't get into fertilizer of something. Some mice ripped a bag open and my DH left the barn door open.....hmmmmm.

The fertilizer may be it! Chickens will eat anything!

It might have been an egg that broke inside her.

Sometimes the runny yellow poop means a worm infestation. Could also be the poison.
