Wierd egg-laying situation... just making sure nothing's wrong

Just answered my own question with a quick search... found this on a forum:

"Don't laugh, but I looked up egg facts and discovered that the heaviest ever hens egg was 454g!! And the largest number of yolks was 5! And the biggest was 31cm around the long axis..."

WOW!!!

Now I'm dying to get home and find out. Guess we'll be having eggs for dinner tonight.

Cool facts! I seem to learn something new everyday thanks to BYC! Thanks for sharing! I have 4 SLW pullets that will be 24 wks old tomorrow. I only have one of them that has started laying (20wks old). She had a very sporatic start. After I finally cracked opened her eggs I found that every time she would skip a day or 2 she would lay a double yolker the following day. I'm still waiting for my 5 EE to lay, but my RIR's are doing great. Can't wait to hear what you find.

Isn't it great, you just never know what you will get!!!! One of my girls, not sure which one, has a tendency to lay me double yolkers. I just knew the first one was a double because it was so big, not like the others.
I usually get between 6-8 eggs a day from 10 girls that should be laying now. Every once in awhile I will get 3-4 eggs a day, and that is usually when I need more eggs:) It's like they know when I am out and need some, they hold out on me - Silly girls!!!

Everyone have a Great day!!
