Wife’s chicken was attacked by neighbors dog!?!?

Wow, poor baby. I love greyhounds and have wanted one for years but they just don’t mix well with chickens or outdoor cats. Hopefully your veterinarian prescribed some antibiotics, topicals, and some chlorhexadine to clean the wounds with. How is she doing today? You could get some higher protein food to help her heal faster-like a game bird or flock raiser feed. Or add cat food, tuna or eggs to her diet. Best of luck.

Keep us posted on how she is doing. Your wife will have a special bond with this chicken after taking such good care of her. I have an older hen who I took care of for over a month last year while she was lame in a basket, and she now comes out to meet me, vocalizing and following me around the yard when I come to the coop.

Unfortunately she has taken a turn for the worse the tissue all around it is turning white and starting to smell, she is not getting blood flow to the area. I hate it so bad but I think I am going to have to put her down. In that is the dislocation the most human way ?

can you show us a picture of what it looks like now?
i hope that she gets better; if she doesn't recover i hope your wife will have peace of mind, and know that she did what she could to help preserve this hens life:hugs😢. hope the hen makes a drastic change for the better.
