Greetings,
We have had chickens for ~7 years, excluding the last 6 months (we took some time off when the last chicken stopped laying eggs). It is time to start anew (we did chicks the first time around). The 12 new chicks (2 breeds) have been pre-ordered and are due in ~3 weeks. With our kids, nephews and nieces now older (and some with kids of their own) and scattered over several east coast states, we thought it would be fun to set up a 'chick cam'. Searching the internet gives too many 'questionable' choices, so i thought i would ask you. I would like to keep costs 'reasonable', but i want to have a decent single camera setup. The coop has electricity and is close enough to pick up the house wifi. Please let me know what you have found that actually works to your satisfaction. Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks for taking the time to help out. regards, HAZ

FOUND IT! worth every penny!

Dericam 1080P Full HD WiFi IP Security Camera...on sale at Amazon.ot this (the p2)~ a week ago to set up in my chicken coop. great streaming (addictive really) my wifi is close enough to work well. good resolution with 2 zoom-in settings and good rotation. Easy instructions for set up, just make sure you use a cable for the first time setup for each phone (you are good to go after that). I haven't set up the desktop yet. note: you can't use the audio and broadcast speaker at the same time due to feedback issues (basically you can't hear yourself talk). I did have a minor software issue with setting up the audio, so I contacted customer service via email. David was very patient and returned my multiple questions over the weekend no less. It turned out that my phone hadn't given the camera the needed permissions when i downloaded the app. And i neglected to turn up the volume. The camera is not offer smart phone quality pixels, but it does give a nice picture for the price. I may have to buy another in this line with exterior qualities in the months ahead for the chicken run.
