Hello,
Do you think that wild Canadian geese and domestic geese and ducks can peacefully co-exist?

I would like to have some geese and ducks added to my menagerie. They will be in a closed run with coop while young, but I would want them to eventually live on our large pond and free range.
However, we have Canadian geese nesting there, and these year it looks like there are some wild ducks as well.
All wild fowl leaves for winter.

Do you think there is a chance they all can get along?
Should I try to time my release of domestic geese to winter when Canadian geese are gone?

Sounds like a waterfowl paradise!
There are some members on here that have their flock peacefully comingling with their wild cousins!
I'm not sure it would necessarily matter the season, as much as the size of your birds. As long as they are grown enough to either hold their own, or know to retreat against the wild birds they should be alright.

Avian Influenza "bird flu" is contracted and spread by wild waterfowl. I would not recommend exposing your birds to wild Canada geese.
