I was gonna get some scratch for my chickens today. I know they don't need it, but I feed it mostly for entertainment. Could I get wild bird seed instead? My chickens love sunflower seed, but I can't afford to buy a bag of it and a bag of scratch and mix it.

I don't know if the nutrition is better, but that is what I usually buy for my chickens. They love it.

I only buy cracked corn...they love it!! I use it to call them ( here chick chick chick) into the coop a t night( I always have about 5 that stay up late) It is cheap about $10.50 per #50. Wild bird seed would be ok, but costly! You could get a small bag of black sunflower seeds and mix with cracked corn. Just an idea
