This is not good news for our BYC friends and any other poultry owners down there. I hope officials were able to contain it.

That is really bad news- we had it in So Cal a several years back, and it was terrible for the poultry community. >3million birds depopulated to control the outbreak. Do not touch any sick wild birds, report any sick wild birds & if this was my community I would set up a disinfection station for when I came back to my property & close my flock for the immediate future.
